Campus Christianity
How can I be a Christian in a secular university (or a Christian one, for that matter)? This talk gives students practical advice with real-life examples of holding fast to your faith while in the university setting. Students will learn to think biblically, cultivate a teachable spirit, pursue excellence, and strengthen their faith. |
Day 2: At Sea

Answering the Big Questions of Life
This topic addresses five of the biggest questions of life for any individual, and presents answers based on the three main worldviews: Naturalism, Pantheism and Theism (specifically, the Christian worldview):
1. Why is there something rather than nothing?
2. How do you explain human nature?
3. What happens to a person after death?
4. How do you determine right and wrong?
5. How do you know that you know? |
Human Nature
Who we are as humans determines so much about how our culture operates. Education, law, philosophy, science, art, everything builds from a shared idea of human nature. We'll look at three major worldviews and their perspectives on humanity, laying bare their real world repercussions. In so doing, the case will have been made that the Christian perspective on human nature is the most dignifying and wholly beneficial to society. |
| Go to the Movies... But Don't Turn Off Your Brain!American-Swiss apologist Francis Schaeffer keenly observed, "As evangelical Christians, we have tended to relegate art to the very fringe of life... If Christianity is really true, then it involves the whole man, including his intellect and creativeness." We agree. That is why we've created this talk, during which we will discuss how we can begin to participate in and critique entertainment and the arts from a biblically informed perspective. |
Day 3: Labadee, Haiti
|
| Why Evolution Won't Work What does account more fully and honestly for the evidence is a theory called Intelligent Design. We will introduce the basics of Intelligent Design and discuss its merits against that of evolution. |
Do I Have to Choose between Science and the Bible?
One of the most divisive issues among conservative Christians is their views on the age of the earth and how God created it. Unfortunately, our students are not prepared to answer non-Christians' accusations on this disagreement and often end up doubting what they've been taught. This talk discusses Young Earth Creationism, Old Earth Creationism, and Theistic Evolution. Both the strengths and weaknesses of each view are addressed in a forthright and respectful manner. |
Day 4: Falmouth, Jamaica

Helpful Answers to Tough Questions
”Why are you a Christian?” “How do you know God really exists?” “Isn’t the Bible just a book of made up stories?” Sometimes the simplest questions can be the most difficult to answer. In a world that demands evidence for any claim of truth, how do we present a case for the existence of God and the authority of His Word? This session provides the tools to do just that. |
| Excursion to Dunn's River Falls and River Tubing |
Is Jesus God?
Skeptics around the world claim that Jesus either never said He was God or He never exemplified the activities and mindset of God. Either way, they often claim Jesus was just a man - a good man perhaps - but certainly not God. As the foundational principle to the Christian faith, believers must address this issue with skeptics. This session discusses the evidences for Christ’s deity by examining His claims, His works, the testimony of other witnesses, and the evidence for His resurrection. |
Day 5: George Town, Grand Cayman
|
| Excursion: Snorkeling, Swimming with Sting Rays, Lunch at Rum Point |
Lunch Session on the Beach: Climate Change and Our Christian Responsibility
While there are good reasons to be skeptical of many aspects of the modern environmental movement, the Bible declares some specific responsibilities we dare not ignore. This talk sifts the science from the politics by looking at what the data has shown up to this point. We'll also address humanity's responsibility for the environment from a biblical worldview. |
A Compassionate Biblical Response to Homosexuality
There is a God-honoring, people-honoring midway point between the extremes of harsh judgmentalism and enthusiastic embracing of what God has called sin. Sue's 13 years of helping people deal with unwanted same-sex attraction has informed her understanding of this issue in a way that honors both what the Bible says and the hearts of people who identify as gay. |
Day 6: Cozumel, Mexico
|
Choosing What's Right
What is the biblical foundation for what's right and wrong? How does Christian morality differ from the moral codes of other worldviews? What about gray areas? This discussion provides the biblical foundation needed to answer these questions. |
If God Is Good, Why Is There So Much Evil?
Many people say they do not believe in God because they do not see how a loving God could possibly allow evil and suffering. Indeed, this is probably the most frequently raised objection to belief in God. For the believer too, evil and suffering pose a severe test of faith in God. Having lost their first child, and living with a wife with a lifelong handicap (polio) provides Ray with an up-close-and-personal perspective for engaging with both the philosophical answers as well as the real-life value of suffering. |
Day 7: At Sea

World Religions
Chances are you know someone who is a Jehovah's Witness, Muslim, Buddhist, or Mormon. This talk gives an overview of the basic beliefs of other religions as well as some practical tips for how to dialogue with them about Jesus and His gift of salvation.
Is Jesus the Only Savior?
One of the most common objections to the Christian faith is the claim that Jesus Christ is the only way to God and heaven. This claim often draws charges that we are “arrogant” and “intolerant.” How do we respond to this tension between what the Bible says about who Jesus is and this accusation of arrogance and intolerance? |
Thinking Like Jesus
This final session provides an overview of what a Christian worldview looks like, with opportunities for lots of questions and answers from the week's sessions.
Metamorphosis
We will be showing the latest film from Illustra Media, Metamorphosis. It explores the wonder of the transformation from caterpillar to butterfly using modern technology that gives us understanding of what happens in the chrysalis, as well as the migration of the monarch butterfly both to and from their winter location with no one to show the way. |
