Rick Wade unpacks important deeper questions about tragedies like the shootings at Virginia Tech. After shock and fear, there's the universal sense of evil, moral outrage and a deep desire for justicebut where do these convictions come from? Christianity provides some answers and, uniquely, ultimate hope. Time to reconsider?
Virginia Tech Massacre: Coping with Grief
Monday's massacre at Virginia Tech evoked poignant memories for writer and campus lecturer Rusty Wright of university tragedies gone by. He briefly discusses death's shuddering finality and the crucial issue of God, evil and suffering.
Reflection on the Virginia Tech Shootings
Recent graduate student Heather Zeiger reflects on the Virginia Tech shootings, her generation's penchant for violence and despair, its reliance on materialism and expectations of a push-button world. She appeals to a wise ancient king, Solomon, for perspective and points to a Savior who give meaning to life.
