Response to 'The Shack'
In postmodern times and with the rise of the emerging church, genuine relationship seems critical to transmitting truth. Such is at the heart of a provocative new book, The Shack by William P. Young, according to Probe veteran Sue Bohlin.
Yet, as with anything highly allegorical and risky, the portrayal of the Trinity's three Persons in unique ways has stirred both the embrace and rejection of this novel by Christians.
Bohlin offers a peek into why it brought her to tears and Hallelujahs despite a noteworthy theological error. Among other things, she shares that The Shack "is for those who are not satisfied with a cognitive-only
'Christianity from the neck up,' but want a relationship with the Lord that connects the head and the heart."
